Patti Labelle Accused Of Having Bodygaurds Beat Up West Point Cadet

Published

on

According to an ex-West Point cadet, singer Patti Labelle ordered her bodyguard to beat him up as he waited for a car to pick him up.

On Tuesday, an attorney told jurors that cadet, Richard King, was randomly attacked by Labelle’s two bodyguards outside of the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Huston in 2011. King is suing Labelle, her manager/son, her bodyguard and her hairdresser for the attack which resulted in a brain injury that resulted in him being forced to drop out of military academy.

Labelle’s attorney is giving a much different story. It has been confirmed that King was three times above the legal alcohol limit and Labelle’s attorney says that he screamed racial insults at the singer before attacking her son. He was also told multiple times to step back from the singers vehicle after attempting to open the passenger door but did not.

In terms of the brain injury, which caused him to drop out of school, Labelle’s attorney argues that King had already had a year of poor performance and his dropping out did not have to do with the incident.

The trail is expected to last a week.
