After 11 years on the hit NBC show, Kenan Thompson is planning to say farewell to Saturday Night Live after this season. According to TMZ, Thompson just felt it was time to move on. He actually planned to peace out after last season, but when head honcho Lorne Michaels asked him to stay, he obliged. It’s also worth noting that Kenan has had the longest run of any African-American on the show.
So, what’s next for the man who kicked off his career on Nickelodeon’s All That. Thompson plans to pack up his family and move to LA. Rumor has it, he is in talks for a new show.
Season 40 of SNL will officially begin on September 27th, with host Chris Pratt and musical guest Ariana Grande.
