It appears the feud between Jay Z and Kanye West is over, or at minimum, temporarily suspended. Ye headlined Jay’s Made In America festival in Philadelphia and Los Angeles over the holiday weekend, traveling across country to perform in both cities.
Jay and wife Beyonce were in Philly on Saturday night when Yeezus took to the stage, and Hov was also spotted by our staffers backstage at Sunday’s show.
Ye had been throwing shade Hova’s way most of the summer after his boss opted to skip his wedding to Kim Kardashian. During several subsequent festival performances and concerts, Kanye made a point of omitting Jay’s name from song lyrics. But on Sunday night, it was all love as Ye recited his lyrics with Jigga’s name in place. “I admit I fell in love with Kim, around the same time she had fell in love with him. That’s cool baby girl do your thing. Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team,” he spit on “Cold.”
He also shouted out his “big brother” and promised to keep his ranting minimal to prove Roc Nation artists are professional and can finish a set on time. Still, there was no “N*ggas in Paris” finale liked so many in the crowd had hoped for, but perhaps we’ll get that Watch the Throne 2 album soon enough.
