Forbes has officially released their list of the world’s highest paid hip-hop acts of 2014 and to no surprise, topping the list at number one, Dr. Dre.
Earning a staggering $620 million dollars this year, the “Straight Outta Compton” rapper beat out Diddy, who topped the list last year with a cool $50 million. Earlier this year, Dre sold his Dre Beats to Apple for a whopping $3.2 billion, which will soon make him hip-hop’s first billionaire. And get this, Dre’s earnings this year alone is more than the combined earnings of the 24 rappers on the Cash Kings list.
“It’s safe to say headphones is a good business,” DJ Khaled told Forbes, who earned an estimated $7 million.
Following behind Dre on the list, Jay Z and Diddy who tied for number two, both clocking in $60 million. In fourth place, Drake with a cool $33 million and rounding out number five, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with a combined $32 million.
