Rosie Perez is joining ABC’s, The View.
The New York native, along with newcomer and political commentator, Nicolle Wallace will join Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell on the panel for next season of the hit morning show. Perez and Wallace will succeed Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy who announced their departure from the program in July.
“These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table,” said Bill Wolff, executive producer said in a statement. “This mix of smart, vibrant and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television.”
Perez took to Twitter on Thursday morning to thank her fans for all their support.
“Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I am truly touched. Excited to be a part of an amazing show and a great team of women.”
Rosie, most known for her roles in White Men Can’t Jump and Spike Lee’s, Do The Right Thing, is a pretty outspoken person, so it will be exciting to see her interact with Rosie O, her fellow New Yorker.
