Shocking? Nick Cannon And Mariah Carey Headed Towards Divorce

By  |

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey just might be done for good.

On the heels of reports that the famous couple’s marriage was on the rocks, TMZ has confirmed the duo has been separated since May. A source tells the news outlet that the duo have been living separately in New York for months now and that divorce lawyers “have been negotiating property settlement and custody agreements for months.” The insider says the divorce is “a done deal.”

According to the insider, what really set the marriage into a downward spiral was back in March after Nick’s appearance on Big Boy’s radio show. The America’s Got Talent host was asked to name five celebrities he’s slept with and Nick named Kim Kardashian. Apparently, Mariah simply could not get over it and per the insider, she felt humiliated.

The straw that really broke the camels back was when Nick admitted to Howard Stern that Mariah wouldn’t give it up before they tied the knot.

Mariah also has not been happy with how much time Nick spends away. The source tells TMZ that the Grammy Award winner felt abandoned because Nick could not say no to a job. But according to the Drumline star, he’s made $75 million since 2011 for the family.

But Nick isn’t all to blame. Per the insider, the 33-year-old feels that Mariah has become difficult because she surrounds herself with men who never say no.  Apparently, she can’t handle when the Wild ‘N Out host disagrees with her.

Back in October 2013, Cannon blasted the National Enquirer for publishing a story that the two were ending their marriage, writing on Twitter:

“The @NatEnquirer is for sale. I tried to buy the company but my accountants keep saying its not worth the money. #liars #getverified”

Nick and Mariah wed in April 2008 … The couple has two kids together, three-year-old twins, Monroe Cannon and Moroccan.

We can now add Nick and Mariah to the growing list of 2014 celebrity breakups.
