Exclusive: Source Explains Nicki Minaj Wardrobe Malfunction: “She Was Deeply Crushed”

If you tuned into the 2014 MTV VMAs on Sunday night, you might have noticed Nicki Minaj’s major wardrobe malfunction during her performance of “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Ariana Grande.

There is speculation that Nicki’s malfunction was premeditated and that the rapper wanted to make a scene, but a source tells HipHollywood that the situation was FAR from staged.

“The same thing happened in rehearsals,” the source tells us. “So after rehearsals, Nicki’s team fixed the dress and it fit perfectly. But during the show, the zipper wouldn’t go up.”

“She was deeply crushed,” the insider added.

VMAs stage manager Gary Hood also revealed to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM’s radio show that to him, it didn’t appear to be a bit. “I wasn’t immediately next to her, but we rehearsed that [song], obviously, in the dress. And actually the same thing happened in the dress. She didn’t quite make it. I mean, each of the performers had about two minutes … There just wasn’t enough time for her,” he said.

Either way, Nicki handled the situation like a pro and delivered a strong performance.

It’s no secret that Drake’s been on a giving spree while in Miami. From college kids to hotel workers and everyone in between, the rapper has been changing lives one dollar at a time — and now we can see it all in action.

Clearly, it was “God’s Plan” for Drizzy to take his entire budget for his music video and spend it on various residents and workers in Florida’s hot spot city. That’s right almost a million bucks — $996,631.90 to be exact — was slotted for Drake to shoot the visuals for his latest hit but instead he used all the money to make a difference. And in doing so, he made us cry … multiple times. Just watch the video below.

In a statement the self-professed “6god” said this video was “the most important thing” he’s ever done. We’d agree.
