Speculation about the status of Jay Z and Beyonce’s marriage has been headlining news for the past couple of months and Akon thinks he knows why.
In a recent interview with TMZ, the “Locked Up” singer explained that the speculation comes from the fact that, “Their relationship has been more of a business to the outside world than an actual relationship.” He further explains that the shield of privacy that they have created around their private lives attracts speculation,
“If you become a public figure and you have a relationship, your relationship also becomes public,” he explained. “So, if you don’t open up to the public and let people understand what this is, they will naturally speculate. Those speculations are gonna be completely opposite or completely wrong of what could really be happening. Now, you gotta answer or reply to what you shouldn’t have had to in the first place. It’s truly no one’s business. But, it becomes a business of the public when you’re a person of public interest. It’s a matter of them saying, ‘How do we go about moving forward?'”
But in his mind, there is also a positive side to all of the wild speculation, “What they’re going through is going to make great music, better music,” he says. “Now, they have more content to think about.”
The speculation about a troubled relationship between the two started growing after a video was released earlier this year of Jay being attacked by Solange, Beyonce’s sister, in an elevator after the Met Gala in New York City. This last weekend, Beyonce addressed the situation in a verse on her “Flawless” remix stating, “”We escalate, up in this b*tch like elevators … of course sometime s**t goes down when it’s a billion dollars on the elevator.”
Who’s Really Delusional? Charlamagne Can’t Quite Comprehend Amara La Negra’s Colorism Issues
This is uncomfortable to watch.
Love & Hip Hop Miami star Amara La Negra stopped by The Breakfast Club for a chat about her life, career and experience with colorism. Unfortunately, the interview started of awkwardly when Charlamagne’s first questions was, “What are you?” You see, for whatever reason, the radio host was confused about La Negra’s Afro-Latina heritage. And while there’s nothing wrong with an honesty inquiry, it was the way he asked the question that was off-putting. But, it didn’t stop there.
Charlamange, along to co-host, DJ Envy, repeatedly asked the reality star what was her “struggle”, ignorantly assuming that colorism isn’t a thing anymore because of all the advancements in the entertainment industry that have occurred. Yet, and still, you don’t see artist of Amara’s hue celebrated on any Latina platform such as Univision or Telemundo. The host, with the exception of Angela Yee, then proceeded to deduce Amara’s issue to being a problem that’s “all in (her) head”, even referencing the success of Cardi B. as evidence of La Negra’s delusion. You have to watch this to believe it…
