Malia Obama is not only America’s first daughter, but a celebrity in her own right … So why wouldn’t paparazzi take advantage of making a few bucks by snapping photos of the star? Because the White House says … hell no!
According to TMZ, President Obama’s oldest daughter dined at popular eatery, Gjelina in Venice on Monday night and a photographer took a few photos of the 16-year-old and secret service as they entered the restaurant. The paparazzo then took the snapshots and sent them over to AKM-GSI agency to sell, which is standard for paparazzi.
Once the photos hit AKM-GSI’s website, they became available for media outlets to purchase, but the First Lady immediately put a stop to it. Per the news outlet, Michelle Obama called the agency and asked them to take the photos off their website. Of course, following orders, AKM took the snapshots down and sent an email to the media which read:
“Please delete the set of Malia Obama from your archive. The set was sent around earlier today. We cannot distribute this set.”
As previously reported, over the past few weeks, Malia has been working as an intern/production assistant on Halle Berry and Steven Spielberg’s new show, Extant. All we have to say is .. Welcome to Hollywood Malia.
