It’s been a tough week for rapper, Meek Mill. Just days after dumping Wale for not texting him, Meek was sentenced to three to six months behind bars for violating the conditions of his parole.
The North Philly rapper, 27, was convicted in August 2008 on multiple gun and drug charges. He served eight months in jail for those charges and was set to complete his five-year probation next year. Unfortunately for Meek, the District Attorney was concerned over his behavior the past few years.
“His twitter accounts being derogatory to the probation department and this DA and others in the court system,” Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Noel Ann DeSantis listed as one of the issues, adding the emcee also missed meetings with his parole officer. And we’re sure posting a recent photo of himself with a gun didn’t help things. #Genius.
Philadelphia Common Please Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley has ordered the rapper to stop peforming from July 11 to Aug. 11.
No word on if the rapper will surrender now or at a later date.
