Tracy Morgan is still recovering in a New Jersey hospital following last weekend’s horrific crash that injured several and killed comedian, James McNair. Although the actor is still in critical yet stable condition, Morgan’s rep says he is showing signs of improvement.

“Today was a better day,” Morgan’s publicist Lewis Kay said on Thursday. And all though the comedian is expected to be hospitalized for several weeks, Lewis adds that doctors are “optimistic that his recovery is progressing.”

Morgan was a passenger in a limo van early Saturday morning when WalMart driver, Kevin Roper, ran into the back of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. Several were injured, including Morgan, Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton.

People worldwide have been sending out prayers and condolences including some of Hollywood’s heavy weights. “Just praying that he stays strong, and that he gets through because the world needs some more of you Tracy Morgan,” Michelle Williams told HipHollywood earlier this week.

“My prayers go out to Tracy Morgan and his family,” Floyd Mayweather shared with us while on the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Think Like a Man Too. “I was just with Tracy Morgan probably three weeks or four weeks ago. He is a friend of mine. I’m a fan and I wish him a fast recovery.”

Lewis also stated that Morgan’s fiance, Megan Wollover has been by the star’s side and has been “relaying” all the prayers and well wishes.

Roper, 35, who face charges of one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto pleaded not guilty in a New Brunswick courtroom this week.
