Nicki Minaj Throws Shade At Iggy Azalea During BET Awards

Published

on

Nicki Minaj threw some major shade at Iggy Azalea while accepting the BET Award for Best Female Rapper. Minaj, Eve, Charli Baltimore, Angel Haze and Azalea were both up for the award that had gone to Nicki the four previous years.

“What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” the New York bred rapper told the crowd. It has been long rumored that Iggy has ghostwriters helping her behind-the-scenes, including her mentor, T.I.

Realizing people like us might pick up on the diss right away, Minaj quickly tried to diffuse the situation. “No, no, no shade, no, no, no shade.”

“I hope and pray that BET continues to honor authenticity,” the rapper added though adding fuel to the fire.

Iggy is the first female rapper to challenge Minaj’s reign as the queen of hip-hop, but it appears the Australian model has a long road ahead of her before she makes a run for the throne in the eyes of BET. Now the Grammys, that’s an entirely different story and we’re predicting a sweep for Iggy when those roll around next year.

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
