Michael Jackson’s legacy will live on forever and so will his music. On Thursday, the late King of Pop’s new-old song, “Love Never Felt So Good” debuted on iTunes nearly 31 years after it was recorded.
Usher performed the upbeat track during the iHeart Radio Awards on Thursday night to help debut the song which is set to appear on the late singer’s forthcoming album, XSCAPE.
“One of the greatest honors of my life is being intrusted with part of the musical legacy of perhaps the greatest artist in popular music history, Michael Jackson,” L.A Reid said as he introduced Usher’s performance. “When I first went into Michael’s archives and heard the in the raw version of the song you’re about to hear, I was instantly reminded that yes, Michael Jackson is the greatest.”
The Voice coach channeled his inner Jackson during the near 3-minute performance, delivering some of the late singer’s classic dance moves; moonwalk and all.
“Love Never Felt So Good #Honor #iHeartAwards,” Usher tweeted following the awards show.
On Thursday, Justin Timberlake posted a snippet of the track on Instagram and reminded fans to get the song on iTunes.
“Introducing…the DUET VERSION of “Love Never Felt So Good” #MJandJT#MJXSCAPE….(Yes, it’s in iTunes now!),” Timberlake wrote.
“Love Never Felt So Good,” recorded in 1983, was written by the legendary Jackson and Paul Anka.
