Congratulations Dr. Dre. The rapper is just breaths away from becoming hip hop’s first billionaire!
According to reports, Apple is set to buy the 49-year-old’s Beats Electronics for a whopping $3.2 billion which is reportedly one of Apple’s biggest acquisition ever.
According to reports, the deal, which is set to be announced next week, can still fall through. But if all goes according to plan, the tech giant will obtain Beats’ streaming music service and its audio equipment business.
After news surfaced of Apple’s plans, Hollywood quickly praised the rapper for reaching such a milestone. Tyrese took to Instagram on Friday morning and posted this hilarious image of comedian and Breaking Bad star, Lavell Crawford lying in a bed of money.
“To all of the homies on South Central I was told our beds are gonna look like this soon!!!! #BillionaireBedSpread#RestEasy the #DrFixedusUpAGAIN,” he captioned the image.
On Thursday night, Dre went to the studio with some friends, Tyrese and movie director, Gary Gary to celebrate the big news. The crew turnt up with champagne, Heineken and Hennessy.
In a video taped by Tyrese, you see the crew having some fun with the popular headphones and poppin’ bottles in what they are now calling the Billionaire Boys Club.
“Oh sh*t, the Forbes list just changed,” Tyrese said.
Dre chimed in, “The first Billionaire in hip hop right here from the mutha f*cking West Coast. Believe me.”
In a recent Forbes article, the publication reported that Diddy, whose net worth is $700 million, was on his way to becoming the first billionaire in hip hop with Dr. Dre trailing behind at number two. But it looks like Tyrese is right, it’s time for a new list.
