Scandal fans … Grey’s Anatomy fans … Get ready for another Shonda Rhimes masterpiece.
ABC has picked up a number of new pilots for the next TV season and among some of the anticipated shows, Rhimes and producer, Betsy Beers will bring TV watchers a new thriller, How to Get Away With Murder.
According to the logline, the show is a “sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller that centers on ambitious law students and their brilliant and mysterious criminal defense professor who become entangled in a murder plot that could rock their entire university and change the course of their lives.”
The Help’s Viola Davis is set to star in the pilot and will play the role of Annalise DeWitt, a law professor and renowned criminal defense attorney.
Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson will also star in a new ABC comedy, Black-ish. The show “centers on an upper-middle-class black man (Anthony Anderson) who struggles to raise his children with a sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father and his own assimilated, color-blind kids. Loosely based on the life of showrunner Kenya Barris (The Game).
The network has also renewed Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and Revenge.
