“Rehab” is what one teenage girl might need after being slammed and mocked by Rihanna.
16-year-old, Alexis Carter was mildly obsessed with Rihanna’s Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit she wore to the 2010 Echo Awards and decided to have a close family friend re-create the ensemble. Alexis wore the black outfit to her Hollywood themed prom and as expected, the piece was a hit.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, I love this outfit. I wanna go with this outfit. Let me go show my mom!’ And I was like, ‘Mom, mom, mom, I wanna wear this, it’s cool, I love it, oh my god,'” the student told her local FOX affiliate Wednesday. “Everybody was saying, ‘Oh my god, I love it. It looks nice. Your body looks good. It’s different.”
Well the outfit was so popular, it began trending on social media, even receiving the hashtag, #prombat. Unfortunately, there were several photos and comments mocking the teen’s trendy outfit … Sadly, one of those comments was from Rihanna herself.
In two Twitter posts, the singer posted side by side images of the teens bat outfit and poked fun at the re-created masterpiece. In one side by side image, Rihanna posted her outfit with the words “IG” and then the 16-year-old’s outfit with the words “Real Life.” She simply captioned the snapshot with a sad face.
In another image, the singer posted another side by side image of her designer garments next to the Wu-Tang symbol.
“She gets it,” Rihanna captioned the tweet.
“I was very offended,” Carter said about Rihanna’s hurtful tweets. “Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing? The poses was different but the outfit wasn’t.” She added, “She don’t love her fans like she says she does.”
LingeRIH: Rihanna In Talks To Launch Her Own Line Of Intimates
Rihanna is definitely one of the sexiest chicks in the game, so it’s not surprising that she is rumored to be launching a line of lingerie. According to WWD, the pop star, who has made her presence known in the fashion and beauty world with her namesake cosmetic and apparel collections has struck a deal with Tech Style for a line of intimates.
Rihanna reportedly inked a partnership with the Fashion Group, which is already home to successful brands like Fabletics, ShoeDazzle and Just Fab. TechStyle Fashion Group’s partnership with Rihanna wouldn’t be the company’s latest celebrity team-up, as Fabletics already scored a partnership with actress Kate Hudson and singer Demi Lovato, and ShoeDazzle (co-founded by Kim Kardashian, Brian Lee and Robert Shapiro) collaborated with actress-singer Keke Palmer.
The Rihanna-helmed lingerie line hasn’t received an official release date, but samples have already been produced, according to the report. In the meantime Rih is readying the release of her FENTYxPUMA collaboration.
Just last week she announced that she’ll be merging the two brands to launch a joint collection and debuted photos of models sporting the athleisure line in the middle of a desert.
The joint collection will be available for purchase on March 15.
