Leslie Jones Launches Lengthy Twitter Message To “Black Folk” After SNL Controversy

Published

on

Senior Editor of Ebony.com, Jamilah Lemieux slammed Saturday Night Live star, Leslie Jones on Twitter over the weekend after Jones’ “embarrassing” comedy sketch about being the “Number 1 slave draft pick.”

“This Leslie Jones person is an embarrassment @msmarypryor. I’m so appalled right now,” Jamilah wrote on the social media website.

During the skit, Jones was discussing Lupita Nyong’o being named one of People’s most beautiful and how “the way we view Black beauty has changed.” But then, Jones went into an entire spiel about how if she [Jones] was a slave, she would not only be the most popular on the plantation, but her love life would have been amazing.

“See, I’m single right now, but back in the slave days, I would have never been single. I’m six feet tall and I’m strong, Colin. Strong! I mean, look at me, I’m a mandingo … I’m just saying that back in the slave days, my love life would have been way better. Massah would have hooked me up with the best brotha on the plantation  … I would be the No. 1 slave draft pick,” Jones said during the show.

On Sunday afternoon, the comedian took to Twitter to address some of the negative comments surrounding her controversial skit.

“Ok I wasn’t gonna say any thing because I know that dumb people know how to use the computer too, but now this is so ridiculous. Where is the rape idiots. I said nothing about rape you f*cking morons. I was talking about being match to another strong brother. Not being rape by white man. What part of this joke that wasn’t true,” she wrote in a long Twitter post.

“I would have been used for breeding straight up. That’s my reality. And it saddens me that BLACK PEOPLE b*tch and moan about the most stupid shit. I’m a comic it is my job to take things and make them funny to make you think. Especially the painful things. Why are y’all so mad. This joke was written from the pain that one night I realized that black men don’t really fuck with me and why am I single. And that in slave days I would have always had a man cause of breeding”

“If anybody should be offended is white folks cause it’s what they did. Y’all so busy trying to be self righteous you miss what the joke really is. Very sad I have to defend myself to black people. Now I’m betting if Chris Rock or Dave Chappelje did that joke or Jay Z or Kanye put in a rap they would be called brilliant. Cause they all do this type of material. Just cause it came from a strong black woman who ain’t afraid to be real y’all mad. So here is my announcement black folks, you won’t stop me and Im gonna go even harder and deeper now. Cause it’s a shame that we kill each other instead of support each other. This exactly why black people are where we are now cause we too fucking sensitive and instead of make lemonade out of lemons we just suck the sour juice from the lemons. Wake up.”

Is Trey Songz Completely Out Of Control?!

Published

on

Trey Songz used to be a singer known for sexually suggestive lyrics and his panache for saying “yuuuup.” Now, he may be known more as an R&B singer with a possible rage problem…

Trigga Trey has been accused of smacking a girl in the face with her own phone and now that accuser is suing for $50,000. The unidentified woman says that while at Philadelphia’s Vanity Grand Cabaret strip club she sought to get a snapshot with the singer, but he didn’t oblige. Instead, according to the woman, he pushed her phone back into her face and caused her glasses to break.

If true, this isn’t Trey’s first time getting way too aggressive for no d@mn reason. Just last year he became so upset over authorities ending his show in Detroit that he threw microphones and speakers from the stage. Unfortunately, he also injured a police officer in the process. In August, he reached a plea deal in that case and got his felony assault charge reduced to just two counts of disturbing the peace.

So, back to the fan who just wanted a photo. It looks like she’s only seeking coin and not criminal charges. And in Songz’s defense he does take pictures with some fans (see below), so maybe it was just the way she asked.
