The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Apollo Nida’s legal woes have come to a head. On Tuesday, Phaedra Parks’ husband pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud; a scheme which amounted to nearly $2.3 million.
RHOA co-star, Kenya Moore, who has had her fair share of run in’s with Nida, took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to respond to the reality star’s guilty plea.
“You can have a criminal past and not have a criminal mind. They can be rehabilitated. All ex-cons are not current criminals. To be crystal,” she wrote.
“God is so good. He exposes your enemies for you. All you have to do is trust and believe only in him. Stay strong and let him work. #justice,” she also tweeted.
Following the 35-year-old’s court hearing on Tuesday, United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said in a statement:
“This defendant participated in a sweeping fraud scheme that exploited many segments of the financial system, including phony claims submitted to federal and state agencies, loans secured by vehicles, and even basic identity theft associated with stolen checks,”
“Nida and his conspirators were conniving and creative in their scheme to steal victims’ identities and defraud them. The United States Secret Service will continue to adapt its investigative methodologies to arrest criminals who use their technological savvy to violate unsuspecting victims such as those in this case,” said Reginald G. Moore, Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service, Atlanta Field Office.”
Earlier this year, Nida turned himself into authorities after being accused of opening bank accounts under stolen identities to commit bank fraud, check fraud and to create fake companies. The 35-year-old is set to be sentenced sometime in July.
