Kelly Rowland, Selena Gomez & More Turn Out For ABT Opening Night Gala

A host of some of our favorite celebs turned out last night (May 12) for the American Ballet Theatre Spring Opening night gala at the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC.  The famed theatre company will run a slate of performances this spring through May 30 and everyone’s new favorite ballerina Misty Copeland will be taking center stage.  

The 31 year-old is the second black woman in the history of the American Ballet Theatre to gain the status of soloist, and now she’s hoping to inspire other aspiring ballerinas with her new memoir, “Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina.” Check out our sit-down and pics from opening night below.

This year the NAACP Image Awards landed on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day so it was only fitting we ask celebs on the red carpet what their dream for the future would be. The answer were quite surprising…

Naturally, the conversation turned to the current state of affairs in this nation. And while #MeToo, #TimesUp and wage disparities dominant our news cycle, it’s hard to imagine that Dr. King would be satisfied with the progress we’ve made.
