Happy Birthday Biggie Smalls … Today, March 21 the late rapper would have been celebrating his 42nd birthday. Fans around the world honored the star by rocking out to some of his biggest hits and according to Faith Evans, there is no better way.

While on the red carpet for the LA Hair’s Season 3 premiere party, HipHollywood caught up with Evans, who was married to the rapper from 1994-1997, to talk about how she celebrated the late Christopher Wallace’s birthday.

“We just played his music all day in the car,” Evans told us exclusively. “Tweeting and Instagramming photos and stuff.”

Evans, who stunned in a black hat and leopard print ensemble, also shared with HipHollywood what her favorite Biggie song is. “‘Hypnotize,'” she told us. “It just knocks. All of them do. But, it’s like the one in the party where you can get it started or it can get it finished.”

During last weekend’s Billboard Music Awards, Michael Jackson, in hologram form delivered a chilling performance of his new hit “Slave to the Rhythm.”   So we asked Evans what her thoughts would be on having a performance by Biggie in hologram form.

“I don’t know, I think it’s a little weird,” she told us. “If it were to ever be done it’s because his mom okayed it. I digress to anything she wants to do.”

Biggie aka The Notorious B.I.G, was murdered in a drive by shooting on March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles.

Another year, another award show … but this time around a few new names have made the nominations cut.

The 2018 Golden Globes nominees were announced on Monday and some of our favorites like Anthony Anderson, his show “black-ish”, Denzel Washington (“Roman J. Israel, Esq”), Octavia Spencer (“The Shape Of Water”) and Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”) made the list again. But some newbies were announced that have us giddy like it’s Christmas morning.

First up, we’re super glad that “Get Out” is being recognized, although it’s in the “Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical” category (womp) and to see David Kaluuya getting some love is pretty dope.

In addition, one of our FAVE singer is now being recognized for her acting prowess! Mary J. Blige scored a nod for her supporting role in “Mudbound” and we can’t wait to see what she wears to the big show.

And although this is Issa Rae’s second year being a Golden Globe nominee, we’re just as excited as if it were her first! Oh, and maybe the Globes will get it right this year (wink, wink).
