Exclusive: Behind The Scenes Look At Tank’s New Music Video, “You’re My Star”

Tank will be releasing the music video to his song “You’re My Star” soon and HipHollywood got an exclusive set visit to find out more about the singers new direction, music, and thought process.

If you’ve heard the song already, you may have noticed that Michael Jackson’s “This Place Hotel” was used as a sample in beat. Tank explained that he was extra careful with using it the right way and using it to create one of his first up-tempo singles:

“I got this Michael Jackson sample and I got this track and I’m trying to figure out what to do with it, where to go with it. And I’m like ‘Hey lets just write a good song.’ You know, people are already going to be in tune because of the nostalgic appeal of Michael Jackson. How do we make it feel like they might have heard it before, but maybe [they] haven’t? How do we get that moment?”

From the looks of things, our friend Tank did capture the exact look and feeling he was looking for.

Check out the video below to get an inside look at the music video:

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
