Touchdown! Michael Strahan Joins The Cast Of ‘Good Morning America’
Goodbye Josh Elliott, hello Michael Strahan.
Rumors began swirling on Tuesday that the former NFL star and talkshow host was joining ABC’s Good Morning America. Well it looks like the reports were true because the 42-year-old confirmed on Live with Kelly and Michael that he will be working with the hit morning show.
“The big news is that I’m gonna be on GMA now,” Strahan told the audience on Wednesday. The talkshow host went on to share that he found out about the news on Tuesday night.
“So what is so surprising is I had a meeting, and we talked about the possibility there, and then I went to see Captain America with Samuel L. Jackson and I get out of screening and I check my messages and I’m on Good Morning America.”
He continued, “I don’t think I could do it every day. I have a lot going on. I have to be smart about it,” he said. “I just want everyone to know and [Kelly] to know that no matter what, this is my number one priority, and you [Kelly] are my number one priority, and I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what I do here.”
A source tells TMZ that Michael will appear in the 8:00 hour 3 to 4 times a week.
It sounds like Michael might be spread a little thin having to hop back and forth from show to show, but we are sure the host can handle it just fine.
Nicole Murphy’s fiance will be joining Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Amy Robach, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee.
