What Drake Is Saying About Hosting The 2014 ESPY’s!

Published

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Drake will be hosting the 2014 ESPY Awards and according to the rapper, he is more than thrilled.

“It’s been a dream of mine for a long time,” Drizzy said during ESPN’s NBA Countdown on Wednesday night. “I watched a guy that I look up to in every aspect of life, Jamie Foxx, do it and I always say if I can follow in his footsteps that’ll be a great career for me, so I was blessed with the opportunity to do it. SNL gave me the confidence to do it.”

This won’t be the 27-year-old’s first rodeo in the hosting ring. Not only did the rapper get his start working on Canadian drama, Degrassi, but he also took on SNL as host in January. The “Draft Day” rapper also hosted Canada’s 2011 Juno Awards.

“We’re a few months out but the key is to be memorable, of course, especially in this age with the Internet and everything going viral,” he said in reference to Ellen DeGeneres’ viral selfie from this years Oscars.

The ESPYs will be held July 16 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live.

Issa, Anthony, Sterling … Oh My! This Is Who We’re Rooting For At The Golden Globes

Published

Another year, another award show … but this time around a few new names have made the nominations cut.

The 2018 Golden Globes nominees were announced on Monday and some of our favorites like Anthony Anderson, his show “black-ish”, Denzel Washington (“Roman J. Israel, Esq”), Octavia Spencer (“The Shape Of Water”) and Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”) made the list again. But some newbies were announced that have us giddy like it’s Christmas morning.

First up, we’re super glad that “Get Out” is being recognized, although it’s in the “Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical” category (womp) and to see David Kaluuya getting some love is pretty dope.

In addition, one of our FAVE singer is now being recognized for her acting prowess! Mary J. Blige scored a nod for her supporting role in “Mudbound” and we can’t wait to see what she wears to the big show.

And although this is Issa Rae’s second year being a Golden Globe nominee, we’re just as excited as if it were her first! Oh, and maybe the Globes will get it right this year (wink, wink).
