Pharrell Williams, with staple hat in tow, stopped by Good Morning America on Monday morning and hit the rooftop for a killer performance.
The singer, who is currently promoting his latest album, G.I.R.L, performed his smash hit “Happy” on the morning show and wowed Times Square with his slick dance moves. The song, which is off his new album, quickly went on to top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and charts in 23 other countries.
During his performance, the 41-year-old sported his classic, Vivienne Westwood hat with a colorful jacket and a pair of jeans. Throughout the performance, the camera took shots of people around Times Square joining in on the dancing.
And Pharrell’s hat, first worn at the 2014 Grammys, seems to still be a hot topic around the globe. On Saturday night, Anna Kendrick poked fun at the 41-year-old’s mountain hat during a hilarious skit on Saturday Night Live. Williams sported the hat during his appearance on the late night show and of course, was an absolute hit.
News surfaced last week the “Happy” singer will be joining next season of NBC’s hit singing competition show, The Voice.
“Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO #HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS = #NewVoiceCoach for SEASON 7,” NBC’s The Voice wrote on Twitter.
Following the announcement, the 40-year-old tweeted:
“This is going to be so fun,” Williams wrote.
Voice coach Adam Levine also writing, “Welcome to the circus dude!”
