Seeing Lupita Nyong’o grace the pages of a magazine will never get old!
Just a week after the stunning Oscar winner was announced as the new face of Lancome, her beauty is displayed again on the cover of Marie Claire.
The “Fresh Faces” issue features Nyong’o among a crop of Hollywood starlets the magazine deems to be “on fire” right now. Kate Mara, Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen and Emilia Clarke join Lupita as cover girls for the May issue.
In her interview with the mag, the 12 Years A Slave star reveals she wasn’t always a fashionista, the agony of award shows and the perks of being famous.
“I wasn’t a follower of fashion. It was a world unknown. Then I met my stylist, Micaela Erlanger [introduced to her by friend and Non-Stop costar Michelle Dockery], and we came to interpret my style: clean lines, strong color. I don’t dress to impress; I don’t feel that pressure.”
On Waiting For Her Category During Award Shows:
“I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It’s an internally loud moment. It’s not even about the outcome; it’s about the agony of the unknown. It’s like waiting for test results in a hospital.”
On The Perks Of Being Famous:
“I met Sidney Poitier, who has been someone I’ve looked up to and a blessing from afar. It was an incredible thing and something that I hold very dear to my heart.”
Marie Claire also hosted a swanky soiree at the SoHo House in West Hollywood on Tuesday night to celebrate their gorgeous cover girls. Lupita hit the red carpet in a beautiful white and blue, embroidered frock and, as usual, her hair was styled to perfection!
While on the carpet for “Marie Claire’s Fresh Faces Party” Nyong’o spoke about being on the cover of the monthly mag. “Of course it’s an honor! To be on the cover of a magazine is a very exclusive thing and I’m happy to have been granted that opportunity,” stated the bold beauty.
The May issue of Marie Claire hits stands soon.
