Exclusive: August Alsina Talks New Album And Future Collabo With Boosie

With songs including the #1 Bilboard R&b/Hip hop hit “I Luv This Sh*t” featuring Trinidad James, “Make It Home” featuring Jeezy and “Ghetto” featuring Rich Homie Quan, August Alsina is setting himself up for an amazing 2014.

The 21-year-old singer stopped by the HipHollywood Loft recently to talk about his upcoming album Testimony which hits stores April 15th, a date that the New Orleans native holds deeply in his heart.

“My oldest brother got killed three years ago, that’s his birthday and I just thought it would be the right move to drop it that day because I’m showing that I wouldn’t be doing this without him,” August told HipHollywood.

August’s brother was murdered in 2010 just after the singers 18th birthday, something that hurt him deeply but also motivated him to succeed.

“A n*gga killin’ my brother was like a wakeup call for me. You gotta do something different you gotta change the the way you livin’, change the way you move cause that could easily be me a n*gga can kill me today or tomorrow so its like ‘what am I going to leave here on this earth?'”

August also opened up exclusively to HipHollywood about a future collaboration with Lil’ Boosie, a fellow Louisiana native who recently returned from jail.

Find out why Alsina titled the album Testimony and get the exclusive details on his future collaboration with Boosie by watching the video below.

Girl Power Prevails At The 2017 American Music Awards

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
