Drake’s new hit “Draft Day” is full of celebrity shout outs and among some of those listed, Jennifer Lawrence, Johnny Manziel and Chance the Rapper.
On Tuesday night, the Canadian rapper released the hot 5 minute track which seemingly appears to be dedicated to the former Heisman Trophy winner. Drake and the possible first round draft pick have been friends for years, in fact, during Menziel’s 2012 off season, the two were spotted out together pretty frequently.
“Draft day, Johnny Manziel, Five years later how am I the man still / Draft day, A. Wiggins, F*ck that other side b*tch we stay winnin’/Aww man, You know I had to do it for you,” Drake raps.
The rapper goes on to express how much he adores J Law. “And then you never notice they missin’, On some Hunger Games sh*t I would die for my district / Jennifer Lawrence you can really get it, I mean for real girl you know I had to do it for yah.”
And of course, the 27-year-old didn’t shy away from throwing a little shade. While it’s unsure if Drizzy directed the heat towards Jay Z in response to the rapper’s recent diss, we do know that Drake called out up and coming rapper, Chance.
“You should’ve followed all my moves, you won’t realize til after/ And if I left sh*t to chance I would’ve picked a name like Chance the Rapper/ No offense cause I don’t know that ni**a, I’m focused on makin’ records and gettin’ bigger/ Just hits, no misses, that’s for the married folk, Tell em fix my suite up cause I’m comin’ home/I heard they talkin’ crazy, I was out of town / You know they love to pop all that sh*t when I’m not around/ But when I’m here, not a sound.”
Sound off: Do you think this is Drake’s way of responding to Jay Z?
