Pharrell Williams’ Vivienne Westwood hat that he wore to the 2014 Grammy Awards has been the talk of award season, in fact, the fashionable hat has become a celebrity in its own right.
Over the weekend, the “Happy” singer auctioned off the fashion piece on eBay to raise money for his From One Hand To Another foundation and who gave top dollar for the hat? Arby’s!
That’s right, the fast food chain outbid everybody with a whopping, $44,100. According to Arby’s, they wanted support the charity which helps children learn through technology/arts and not to mention, the hat looks just like their logo.
“Thank you to whoever bought my Grammy hat on @eBay for $44,100. Your donation benefits From One Hand To AnOTHER,” Pharrell tweeted on Sunday night when the bidding closed.
“@pharrell you’re welcome. We’re HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back. Good luck at the #Oscars tonight,” Arby’s wrote in response.
