The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture is set to open in 2015 and in an effort to help, Target has donated $50,000!
“We are, at Target, committed to making sure we celebrate the African American community everyday of the year, not just during Black History Month,” Laysha Ward, President of Community Realtions at Target, told HipHollywood.
HH caught up with Ward during the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon where she also spoke about Target teaming up with the popular magazine. “Today’s celebration is one way Target and Essence are recognizing the contributions of these extraordinary women (Lupita Nyong’o, Ava DuVernay and Cheryl Boone Isaacs).”
