Some of our favorite stars turned out for the 86th Annual Academy Awards in some looks that were hot and some that had us bothered. Lets start with the haute (pun intended) and of course you know its Lupita Nyong’o.
The 12 Years A Slave actress, who won best supporting actress, was also a fashion winner in this pale blue pleated Prada gown.
Kerry Washington was glowing in this purple silk Jason Wu gown, and we loved the deep purple lip to complete the look.
Viola Davis looked like money in this structured emerald Escada gown, and we absolutley loved the 50’s inspired hair.
Gabourey Sidibe got colorful in this custom made Theia gown. We loved the texture on the gown and the hue on her skin tone.
Chrissy Teigen got fun and flirty on the red carpet in this floral strapless Monique Lhuillier gown, while her hubby John Legend opted for a simple tux.
Will and Jada got it half right on the red carpet. While Jada stunned in a peach Carolina Herrera gown, Will opted for a black tux accented with a grey scarf that has us on the fence.
Nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor looked daper in this black tuxedo and we can’t help but notice how well groomed he looks this time around.
And while we are talking about daper dudes, Micheal B. Jordan put his swag on full display in this Givenchy suit and gold plated shoes.
Now for the bothered … while we were so happy (another pun) that Pharrell was nominated and was performing at the show, we’re were unhappy by his wardrobe choice. First it was the hat now these Lanvin shorts. Honestly he and Helen could have switched outfits and we would have felt much better.
LingeRIH: Rihanna In Talks To Launch Her Own Line Of Intimates
Rihanna is definitely one of the sexiest chicks in the game, so it’s not surprising that she is rumored to be launching a line of lingerie. According to WWD, the pop star, who has made her presence known in the fashion and beauty world with her namesake cosmetic and apparel collections has struck a deal with Tech Style for a line of intimates.
Rihanna reportedly inked a partnership with the Fashion Group, which is already home to successful brands like Fabletics, ShoeDazzle and Just Fab. TechStyle Fashion Group’s partnership with Rihanna wouldn’t be the company’s latest celebrity team-up, as Fabletics already scored a partnership with actress Kate Hudson and singer Demi Lovato, and ShoeDazzle (co-founded by Kim Kardashian, Brian Lee and Robert Shapiro) collaborated with actress-singer Keke Palmer.
The Rihanna-helmed lingerie line hasn’t received an official release date, but samples have already been produced, according to the report. In the meantime Rih is readying the release of her FENTYxPUMA collaboration.
Just last week she announced that she’ll be merging the two brands to launch a joint collection and debuted photos of models sporting the athleisure line in the middle of a desert.
The joint collection will be available for purchase on March 15.
