While press releases for the upcoming Drumline movie have stated that Nick Cannon will make an appearance in the movie, HipHollywood has learned from Cannon himself that this claim is wrong. HipHollywood recently caught up with Cannon in Hollywood at the private listening party for his upcoming “White People Party Music” album and he opened up about his role in the film.
“I’m actually not in the film,” Cannon stated.
This comes as a little bit of a surprise. Cannon previously told MTV’s Charlamagne and Friends that he was producing the movie, was not going to be in it, but “might make a cameo” back in January but a press release issued February 5th stated that he would be in the film. Now it looks like he is not going to be in the film at all and will be spending his time focusing on the production side of the project.
“It’s really just about stepping in there and kinda being an executive on the project more than anything. I kinda put it together because I felt that the brand had one of those cultural, meaningful, experiences for people and I wanted to continue to keep that going,” Cannon told HipHollywood.
