Aretha Franklin Is Teaming Up With Andre 3000 And Babyface For New Music

Aretha Franklin is teaming up with Babyface and Andre 3 Stacks for some new music.

Franklin celebrated her 72nd birthday at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New York City on Saturday that was packed with a star-studded list of well-wishers including Denzel Washingtion and Clive Davis. During an interview, she let it be known that new music is coming and that she would be working with Babyface on new tracks.

Babyface is currently performing with Toni Braxton in the Broadway musical “After Midnight,” celebrating Duke Ellington’s  Cotton Club years but Aretha was eager for him to finish so he has time to work on her music.

“I’m just waiting for him to finish that so he can finish my tracks please,” Franklin told Billboard.

But thats not all, the birthday girl also let it be known that Andre 3000 would also be working on the tracks. Unfortunately, she had a tough time remembering his name, “And I think Andre 2000 – is it two or three? 3000 is going to be doing some of the tracks with him,” she stated.

Andre is also a pretty busy guy, he stars in the new Jimi Hendrix biopic, Jimi: All Is By My Side, that premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2014, and is getting ready for a Coachella performance and upcoming Outkast tour. At the end of the day we hope that the trio gets together sooner than later and releases these anticipated tracks.

Girl Power Prevails At The 2017 American Music Awards

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
