Friends and loved ones said their final goodbyes to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman today in New York.
The private funeral, which was held at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on Park Ave. drew some of Hoffman’s closest friends in the industry, including Spike Lee, Cate Blanchett and Ethan Hawke.
Earlier this week, HipHollywood was told that the family was very adamant about the funeral being just for Hoffman’s loved ones. According to reports, nearly 400 people attended the service at the same church where the late Aaliyah’s funeral was held.
On Thursday, many also showed up for the actor’s wake at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, including Amy Adams and Meryl Streep to name a few. A larger memorial service will reportedly be held later this month.
On Sunday, February 2 the Capote actor was found dead in his Greenwich Village apartment of an apparent drug overdose. The 46-year-old was found with a hypodermic needle stuck in is arms.
Hoffman is survived by his long time girlfriend, Mimi O’Donnell and three children, Tallulah, 7; Willa, 5; and Cooper, 10.
