Nicki Minaj Drops N-Word 41 Times In “Lookin A** Nigga”

Nicki Minaj’s latest single, “Lookin A** Nigga,” made an epic splash on the Internet earlier this week thanks to the singer’s ever present assets and lyrics. The song features the rapper firing shots at the corny posers that go to extremes to pick up women.

In addition to featuring some rather colorful descriptions of the men that tend to satiate “the scene,” the song also heavily relies on use of the n-word. In fact, Nicki uses the word so often that we decided to count how many times it appears in her lyrics.

Look at y’all smokin’ ass n*ggas / After every pull, n*ggas start chokin’ ass n*ggas / N*gga-n*gga / Look at y’all b*tch a** n*ggas / Stop lyin’ on your d*ck a** n*ggas / N*gga-n*gga / Look at y’all lookin’ a** n*ggas / Stop lookin’ at my a** a** n*ggas / Look at y’all lyin’ a** n*ggas / Talkin’ ’bout “It’s paid off” but it’s financed, lyin’ ass n*gga.”

As you can see, the n-word appears over a dozen times in the opening verse, and by our count, is uttered by Minaj 41 times in all. Still, it’s not the repeated use of the word that has people upset with the rapper, it’s the cover art which many find disrespectful. The artwork features Civil Rights leader Malcolm X peering out of a window.

The promotional move has led to some backlash, with Twitter followers expressing their outrage.

“As a Black person in the US, you gotta have no knowledge of self or concept of history to create an image of Malcolm X with ‘n*gga’ on it.”
