Lorde To Headline Preakness’ InfieldFest!

What an honor … Grammy Award winning singer Lorde will make her way to Baltimore in a few months to perform at Preakness Stakes’ InfieldFest.

On Thursday morning, the Maryland Jockey Club announced that the New Zealand native will headline the largest single-day sporting events in the United States, “The People’s Race … The People’s Party” on May 17 at the held the Pimlico Race Course.

“Lorde’s popularity is rising at a staggering rate from radio spins to social media to online plays and views,” Maryland Jockey Club president Tom Chuckas said in a news release. “Her appeal cuts across multiple fan demographics and reflects the cutting edge talent fans have come to expect at InfieldFest.”

Infield Fest takes place during the Preakness Stakes’ thoroughbred races held on the third Saturday in May every year.

Last month, the 17-year-old took home two Grammys for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. The singer’s hit single “Royals” topped Billboards charts, holding it’s top spot for nine consecutive weeks.

Now, the New Zealand beauty will join a list of InfieldFest headliners that includes Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pitbull, Bruno Mars and Wiz Khalifa.

Girl Power Prevails At The 2017 American Music Awards

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
