Exclusive: Damon Feldman On Canceled George Zimmerman Fight “We Made A Mistake Picking Him”

It looks like George Zimmerman will not be fighting in any celebrity boxing match … At least if Damon Feldman has anything to do with it.

A few weeks ago, the Florida native who was acquitted in the shooting death of 17-yaer-old, Trayvon Martin agreed to fight DMX in a celebrity boxing match. But after some backlash circulating around Zimmerman being considered a celebrity, the fight’s organizer completely pulled out.

Damon Feldman tells HipHollywood that he felt the fight was wrong. “[Zimmerman] is not a celebrity and it was ruining the credibility of celebrity boxing. We made mistake picking him,” he told us.

HipHollywood also recently caught up with some of Hollywood’s heavy hitters who thought that the planned fight was a bad idea from the beginning.  “Trayvon Martin should be celebrated forever,” Bill Duke told us. “And to mock his death with this entertainment in my opinion is unacceptable.”

American Horror Story’s Gabourey Sidibe told HipHollywood that she thinks it’s ridiculous. “I don’t understand why it’s necessary and it’s actually isn’t. It’s a bad thing to do.”

Roland Martin also shared his reaction, calling it shameful. “George Zimmerman is not a celebrity he is a murderer. DMX should have some since of respect for Trayvon Martin and his family. It’s interesting how he [Zimmerman] was so concerned about being in hiding and about his safety, yet he wants to be in a celebrity boxing match.”

He continued, “I wonder how America would feel if OJ Simpson was out of jail and decided to box somebody. I doubt they would be all happy.”

Review: ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Is Bigger & Better Than The First

Published

If you liked Kingsman:The Secret Service, get ready for The Golden Circle. Hands downs this Kingsman is bigger, badder and better than the first.

Director Matthew Vaughn really takes it up a notch and gives fans much more action and fight sequences. Right off the top we see Eggsy (Taron Egerton) in this amazing car chase scene that will have you applauding as soon as the Prince track ends.

And while we’re talking music the film has an amazing sound track. And if you didnt know, Elton John is also in the film acting and singing some of his classic tunes.

What I also loved were the new editions.  Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges and Pedro Pascal who play the Statesmen – the American version of the Kingsman –  and the dynamic between the two is pretty comical. Vaughn really explores the difference between the two cultures – mannered men in suits versus macho men in jeans and cowboy boots.

Then there’s Julianne Moore who plays the villain, she’s like this maniacal Martha Stewart esque drug lord and she’s quite good at it.

Now there are some obnoxious moments (like that sex scene between Egerton and Poppy Delevigne).  But I think that’s the point. This franchise is all about turning the spy genre on it’s head and introducing the younger generation to a new type of Bond flick … And we think they are going to love it.
