The boxing promoter behind the George Zimmerman and DMX fight may not be pulling the plug on the event after all. The match was scheduled to go down on March 15, but due to pressure from critics, Damon Feldman announced on Saturday that he would be scrapping the event.
That all changed on Sunday morning when Feldman took to Facebook to post this message with his followers:
“I will have Press conference this tuesday to talk about the Celebrity Boxing Event and my decisions with what is next here!”
If the event was over, there would be “what is next here,” so perhaps Feldman is going to go through with it despite the uproar. Over 100,000 people signed a petition urging Damon to scrap the fight because they felt it celebrated George Zimmerman, a man who shot and killed a teenager, Trayvon Martin.
HipHollywood has reached out to Damon for comment. We’ll keep you posted.
