He was the man who made holding a white cat in a spinning red chair look cool and now, he is saying goodbye.
CeeLo Green announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday that he will not be returning to NBC’s The Voice. (Sad face) During the interview, the Grammy Award winner revealed why he has decided to leave the show after four great seasons.
“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year,” Green explained. “But yeah, I’m going to miss The Voice, too. I’m not coming back, guys.”
He continued, “I’m not coming back at all. I just don’t want to wear out my welcome there, you know what I’m saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.”
The 39-year-old, who is heading out on tour with Lionel Richie this spring, explained to DeGeneres that he didn’t mean to “drop the bomb today.” Well we are glad we officially have the heads up.
