Kendrick Lamar On Macklemore’s Grammy Win: “That’s How It Go”

Published

The only thing more controversial than Taylor Swift’s dancing at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards was Macklemore beating Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Jay Z and Kanye West for Best Rap Album. Many hip-hop fans thought Kendrick should have taken the award home, but K. Dot tells XXL he’s not hating on Macklemore’s victory.

“It’s well deserved; he did what he did, man,” Kendrick said. “He went out there and hustled and grinded. Everything happens for a reason; the universe comes back around, that’s how it go.”

As for whether or not hip-hop is an afterthought for producers of the award show, Kendrick was says something needs to be done to make the genre more prevalent. “I definitely feel like they should always have more of the culture up in there, for sure, because we definitely stand out just like any other genre.”

“We part of the world. We part of the movement,” the Compton rapper continued. “So I think any awards, including the Grammys, should always push for more hip-hop because it’s music as a whole, it’s not just splitting different regions. Everything moves as far as sound and vibrations, and that’s how it goes. And we are a part of that.”

Even in defeat, Kendrick is keeping it classy.

Is Trey Songz Completely Out Of Control?!

Published

on

Trey Songz used to be a singer known for sexually suggestive lyrics and his panache for saying “yuuuup.” Now, he may be known more as an R&B singer with a possible rage problem…

Trigga Trey has been accused of smacking a girl in the face with her own phone and now that accuser is suing for $50,000. The unidentified woman says that while at Philadelphia’s Vanity Grand Cabaret strip club she sought to get a snapshot with the singer, but he didn’t oblige. Instead, according to the woman, he pushed her phone back into her face and caused her glasses to break.

If true, this isn’t Trey’s first time getting way too aggressive for no d@mn reason. Just last year he became so upset over authorities ending his show in Detroit that he threw microphones and speakers from the stage. Unfortunately, he also injured a police officer in the process. In August, he reached a plea deal in that case and got his felony assault charge reduced to just two counts of disturbing the peace.

So, back to the fan who just wanted a photo. It looks like she’s only seeking coin and not criminal charges. And in Songz’s defense he does take pictures with some fans (see below), so maybe it was just the way she asked.
