Kanye Shuts Down The Coinye West Bitcoin Makers

Kanye West’s lawyers are definitely having a very busy week. On Monday, Ye allegedly assaulted an 18-year-old for calling his fiancé Kim Kardashian a “ni**er lover”. While he will most definitely be going to court for that altercation, he has succeeded at getting the Coinye West Bitcoin makers to stop using his image.

Kanye’s lawyers filed a lawsuit against the anonymous makers of the Coinye West crypto-currency last week for using his image. The lawsuit was targeted at both the makers of the coins along with Amazon for operating a digital currency exchange and providing web hosting to the company.

The New York Daily News reports that the suit stated that “With each day that passes, Mr. West’s reputation is irreparably harmed,” and that “Consumers are likely to mistakenly believe that Mr. West is the source of these digital coins.”

After attempting to dodge this lawsuit by relocating the company’s registration to India, Coinye West has given in and has changed the name of the coin.

“COINYE IS DEAD,” their website states, “You win, Kanye.” they posted on their website.

The makers have not fully given up however, they have changed the name to “The Gay Fish,” referencing the South Park parody of Kanye West.

Just last week, comedian DC Young Fly posted a pic on Instagram teasing his fans about the possibility of himself and Jackson, Jr. filling the roles of Smokey (originally played by Chris Tucker) and Craig.

And of course fans went crazy. But when we chatted with O’Shea during the press day for his new action film “Den of Thieves”, he was a bit more reserved about the idea.
