Exclusive: ‘Scandal’ Cast Helped Keep Kerry Washington’s Pregnancy A Secret

Published

on

Talk about a Scandal … Before Kerry Washington confirmed that she is expecting her first child with husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, the actress had a little help keeping her pregnancy under wraps.

While on the red carpet for the Essence Women in Music event, HipHollywood caught up with Washington’s TV father, Joe Morton who revealed that the cast was aware of the star’s baby bump.

“We sort of new, but she obviously wanted to keep it private, so we helped her do that. So there was no kind of big celebration,” Morton shared when asked if the cast celebrated Washington’s pregnancy. “I think we celebrate the fact that she is obviously wonderfully married and wonderfully pregnant, and seeming to be enjoying the entire thing. So good luck to her.”

After months of speculation, Kerry finally confirmed her pregnancy at the 2014 Golden Globes when she arrived in a stunning gorgeous blush Balenciaga gown. “I just feel very blessed about my marriage and baby,” the actress told NBC correspondent Tamron Hall while on the red carpet. “Life is truly extraordinary right now.”

Scandal returns to ABC on February 27 for the second half of the season. It hasn’t been confirmed how Washington’s pregnancy will play out on the show, but according to ABC sources, the mom-to-be’s character, Olivia Pope will most likely not get pregnant. “It would slow Olivia and the show down,” an insider told E! News.

It looks like Gladiators will have to tune in to find out.

“”t was really fun. It’s weird to say that. But to have all these women in military training together, where we had to do these exercises … it was a great bonding experience with each other.” Portman told us.

And although the women had the opportunity to use real guns, firearms is not something the ladies of Hollywood advocate. “I’m anti gun to be honest,” Rodriguez said. “I say no guns. There’s no reason for people to have guns especially when you have these,” she said while holding up her firsts.

This past week Gina has been very vocal via social media about gun legislation and the idea behind policy and change following the tragic high school massacre an Parkland, Florida.
Annihilation, also starring Oscar Isaac, hits theaters on February 23.
