Why Can’t Oprah Have It All?

Oprah Winfrey is the type of woman that enjoys proving people wrong. If you tell her she can’t do something, she’ll go out and prove to you that she can. So, it’s pretty surprising that she believes she can’t have a hugely successful career and be a great mother.

While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter, the TV titan explained why she never had children. “If I had kids, my kids would hate me. “They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something [in my life] would have had to suffer and it would’ve probably been them.” Winfrey went on to explain her goal was to be more like MLK. “Gayle was the kind of kid who, in seventh-grade home ec class, was writing down her name and the names of her children,” Lady O said of BFF King, who has two children. “While she was having those kind of daydreams, I was having daydreams about how I could be Martin Luther King.”

Oprah covers the “100 Most Powerful Women In Entertainment” cover of The Hollywood Reporter and although she tops that list, she still feels like there’s more to do. “I’d just like to be in the space where I really feel like I have nothing to prove. I think I’m just about there,” Winfrey admits.

Girl Power Prevails At The 2017 American Music Awards

Music’s most amazing night went down Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. and we have to say the night was all about the ladies!

That’s right the 45th American Music Awards had some major moments and some major girl power starting with Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The duo got the show started singing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts”, but it was their solo performances that had fans going nuts.

Kelly Clarkson returned to the stage and had everyone on their feet with a medley of her classic tracks and new single “Love So Soft.”

While Pink took her career to new heights leaping off the side of a building while performing her hit single “Beautiful Trauma.”

Christina Aguilera, paid tribute to Whitney Houston with a commemorative performance for the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard.

But the #Majah moment of the night had to be Diana Ross. The Motown legend was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and performed some of her greatest hits before accepting the honor.
