Oprah Gets No Love From The Golden Globes

While yesterday may have been a great day for Oprah in terms of nominations, with Lee Daniels’ The Butler getting nominated for three SAG Awards, today’s Golden Globes showed no love for the Lady O.

This comes as a surprise to many, seeing as both the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards tend to nominate similar films. Oprah may not have been nominated for supporting actress but Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle), Julia Roberts (August: Osage County), June Squibb (Nebraska) and Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine’s) did.

Lee Daniels’ The Butler may have failed to get attention but it was not hard for 12 Years a Slave. The movie, which features a large black cast, was a favorite and led the Golden Globe nominations along with American Hustle; each picking up seven nominations.
