Beyonce’s number one fans weren’t the only ones pleasantly astounded by the singer’s surprise album. The 32-year-old’s 14 song, 17 video, visual album even shocked some her friends and family in the music industry.
While on the red carpet for Floyd Mayweather’s 9th Annual Celebrity Classic Toy Drive and Basketball Game, HipHollywood caught up with Mario who raved about Bey’s marketing strategy (or lack thereof).
“When you got like a $10 million budget and you can just pretty much whatever you want, you can do things like that,” Mario told HH. “I’m a huge Beyonce fan and I’m so happy for her. I feel like she’s balancing her life and her career very well and she’s still keeping it sexy. She’s still keeping it classy. And she’s still keeping the integrity of the art. I think that she is an icon,” Mario shared.
HipHollywood also caught up with rapper, B.o.B during LA’s Power 106 Cali Christmas to talk about his reaction to Bey’s surprise.
“I commend her for that, dropping an album just out of nowhere. You know when Beyonce drops an album it’s going to be dope,” he said. “It’s a dope, unorthodox move to help people to stop thinking inside the box.”
