Chris Brown spent a day out of rehab on Sunday to help put smiles on kids faces in Los Angeles.
The troubled pop star hosted the Brooklyn Projects first Annual Toy Drive where people were encouraged to bring brand new, unwrapped toys for underprivileged children. After the event, Brown took to Twitter to thank fans for their love and support.
“Thank you to all the fans who brought gifts for the kids today. Have a wonderful holiday. You’ve made a merry Christmas for a young child,” the 24-year-old wrote, including two photos of the event; one of himself standing in a room full of toys and an image of a long line outside the venue.
Kevin Hart and rapper Tyga also made an appearance at the charity event. The comedian posted a great photo on Instagram of himself posing with Brown and Tyga, writing, “CB” @kinggoldchains& me at CB’s toy drive …. always good to see people giving back!!! Good sh*t CB. #holidays.”
Brown is currently in a three month rehabilitation program for anger management. Last week, the judge in the 2009 Rihanna assault case revoked the singer’s probation after a misdemeanor felony charge stemming from the altercation in Washington D.C back in October.
“This is just one beautiful act of kindness and service that Mr. Brown will be engaging in as he is healing and bringing joy to others, not just through his music but through his genuine desire to make amends and help others less fortunate one day at a time,” the CEO/Executive Director of the rehab facility wrote in a statement.
According to reports, Brown went right back to rehab following the event.
