Beyonce has released the latest installment of her series of short videos that have followed her self-titled visual album.
The five-minute video, entitled “Run ‘N Gun”, is the third video that has been released and highlights the spontaneity behind both the musical as well as visual parts of the album. In the video, fans are able to get a behind the scenes look at what it took to make the album as well as never-before-seen footage from the music videos. Included in this, is footage of Jay Z in the studio coming up with his verse for “Drunk In Love” as well as a look at the video shoot that Jay and Bey did for that song on the beach.
“We’ve been deciding what we’re gonna do as we’re there and there is something about that freedom that is different for me, because I usually plan things and I’m trying to rebel against perfection. It’s fun because you never know what’s gonna happen,” Beyonce states during one of the shoots.
“If it was my choice I would never have a permit. I would just get in the car, get a camera and we’d just shoot,” Beyonce says referring to the style of shooting that they used for multiple videos on the album.
Also included in the short video are interviews with a few of the directors on how they kept the process of shooting these videos so spontaneous.
