Young Jeezy Goes Off on Def Jam, Threatens to Leak Own Album
Rapper Young Jeezy went on a Twitter tirade Tuesday night against Def Jam, threatening to leak his own album if they keep stalling on its release.
In the series of tweets, the Atlanta native called out Universal Music Group CEO, Lucian Grainge and Island Def Jam CEO, Barry Weiss, telling them to “boss up” and accused Def Jam of “playing games”. He followed this up by stating, “If Def Jam don’t get this right y’all got an early xmas gift” implying that he might leak the album if the process is not sped up.
Jeezy claims that he has spent the last two years working on his upcoming album and while he has released many songs this year, his album release date has still not been announced by the label. This will not be the first time Jeezy has struggled with the Def Jam, his last album TM:103 faced numerous delays.
