Just months after actor Idris Elba hinted to HipHollywood that Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom would most likely be his last film, the 41-year-old has just agreed to star in the forthcoming thriller, Bastille Day.
According to Variety, Elba will star in the thriller that revolves around “a U.S. operative who is tasked with interrogating and eventually making a young American boy ‘disappear’ in order to avoid embarrassment to the U.S. government after the boy is linked as the prime suspect to an attack on the Paris metro.”
A director has not been linked to the film yet, but we do know that Vendome Pictures CEO Philippe Rousselet will be producing the project along with Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and David Kanter.
This year the British actor was featured in a number of films including Pacific Rim and Thor: The Dark World, and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, which is set to hit theaters November 29.
Just last week, reports surfaced that Idris is expecting a baby with girlfriend and make-up artist, Naiyana Garth.
