Kendrick Lamar and Drake won big at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Kendrick, who was nominated for 14 awards, walked away with five big wins, including “Album of the Year,” “MVP of the Year,” and “Lyricist of the Year.”
Along with five wins, the Compton rapper proved that he deserved lyricist of the year with his two minute performance during the show. The rapper slammed all of hip-hop with his T.D.E Cypher, and even took aim at Drake, who was absent from the show.
“What I was doing? I’m bout to crack the Da Vinci Code/ Yeah, and nothing’s been the same since they dropped ‘Control’/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes,” he rapped.
Drake and Kendrick might have rap beef, but it looks like the two are equal when it comes to talent … at least according to the number of awards each artist took home.
Just like Lamar, Drizzy took home five awards, including “Best Hip-Hop Video: Started From the Bottom,” “Track of the Year,” and “People’s Champ Award: Started From the Bottom.”
