Fans Livid After Drake Cancels Tour In Philly
Drake upset a number of fans on Saturday night after he canceled his show in Philly an hour after the show was scheduled. Basically, fans were already inside the Wells Fargo Center when the rapper pulled the plug.
“Due to the elaborate nature of tonight’s show and an unexpected technical issue, Drake’s ‘Would You Like A Tour’ concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia has been postponed until Wednesday, December 18th,” a rep for the venue said in a statement.
Fans angrily took to Twitter on Saturday night in response to Drake’s cancellation. “Philly is rioting. You make us white people come here for you now were gonna die,” one fan wrote.
“Disappointed in you @Drake for canceling #nothingwasthesame in Philly,” another fan wrote on Twitter, including a photo of the empty venue.
Saturday’s show was just the second stop on the rapper’s Would You Like A Tour trek. Nearly a week before the tour’s start, Drake fired featured act, singer Future, but re-hired him just days later.
According to reports, the “Hold On We’re Goin Home” rapper offered Future less than the original dollar amount of $40,000-per-gig, but 29-year-old declined, threatening to sue Drake near $1million of lost wages. Eventually the two came to an agreement and Future announced last week that he would be joining the tour.
